“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field. When a man found it, he hid it again, and then in his joy went and sold all he had and bought that field.” Matt 13:44
I arrived in Johannesburg, South Africa this morning for one of my twice-yearly 10 day trips here and I am feeling a pregnant sense of excitement in the (spiritual) air. The Lord’s heart is very full of purpose and goodwill for this “capital city of Africa”, and the key is the gold that He sees in hearts of men and women. Continue reading Johannesburg is eGoli, the city of gold in hearts
Eccl 9:8 “Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.”
If you’re wondering what you should wear today, King Solomon has some advice.
You should wear white. Put on the garment of Christ’s righteousness that gives you confidence of the Father’s favor and enormous love for you. Take off your own dirty clothes, put away your past. Your sin and failures don’t define you if you “put on Christ”. His righteousness and glorious victory define you. Christ’s destiny becomes your destiny. Continue reading Well oiled and wearing white
Ps 34:5 “Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame.”
As we turn the eyes of our hearts to the Father’s face, we see Him beaming brilliant love and glorious hope on us, and so the glow on our lives increases and becomes radiance to a dark world. Continue reading A radiant life comes from looking to a brilliant God
Ps 33:18-20 “the eyes of the Lord are on those who fear him…we wait in hope for the Lord.”
The Father always attentively watches His children, but we’re often not looking back. Waiting on God is meeting His eye with the gaze of our hearts, and experiencing moments of glorious communication, often without words, but rich in love, safety, purpose and peace.
This waiting is the essence of prayer.
John 14:8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father and that will be enough for us.”
The Father’s presence is enough. His nearness shapes our identity, confirms our purpose and infuses us with courage. When the Father is near and clear to us, life is a glorious adventure and fear evaporates with a shout of victorious joy.
Stop for a moment and open your spirit to the Father. Allow Him to embrace you, to wipe away guilt and fear, and to energize you with His Spirit of sonship.
