Well oiled and wearing white

Eccl 9:8 “Always be clothed in white, and always anoint your head with oil.”

If you’re wondering what you should wear today, King Solomon has some advice.

You should wear white. Put on the garment of Christ’s righteousness that gives you confidence of the Father’s favor and enormous love for you. Take off your own dirty clothes, put away your past. Your sin and failures don’t define you if you “put on Christ”. His righteousness and glorious victory define you. Christ’s destiny becomes your destiny.

And you should apply oil to your head – the Presence of God, the ointment of the Holy Spirit. Lift your head to God and allow Him to rub His oil into your hair, so that You are marked by His fragrance all day, and to wipe oil onto your face so that you glisten with His glory.

Make this your daily dressing routine!

Jesus came … “to give them (us!) beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness; that they (we!) may be called trees of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.” -Isaiah. 61:3
