The Spirit’s empowerment takes us beyond ourselves…into the glory of the sons of God

“The Spirit of the Lord will come upon you in power…and you will be changed into a different person. Once these signs are fulfilled, do whatever your hand finds to do, for God is with you.” 1 Sam 10:6-7

In the Old Covenant, the most sought after, distinguishing blessing from God was the anointing of His Holy Spirit. Less than 100 men and women were entrusted with this gift over several thousand years, and they are the ones about whom pre-Christian history is written. Many of them were flawed people – think of Moses’ stuttering, Gideon’s fear and David’s adultery. But when the Holy Spirit came upon them, each became “a different person” as the nearness of God amplified their lives, covered over their failings and turned their ventures into magnificent works.

Today, Christ brings us something even greater.

Rather than only a selected few, now “everyone who calls on the Name of the Lord” is eligible to receive God’s personal abiding Presence. Rather than choosing servants, now His Spirit transforms us into sons and daughters of God – the most amazing beings that this planet has ever seen, men and women with unlimited potential to carry God’s Presence and to reveal His nature in the earth.

Probably no single person has yet reached the full heights of God’s Presence that is available to His sons and no single person’s faith has yet been audacious enough to reach the limits of God’s glory that can shine through His daughters.

Unlimited empowerment is available to you so dare to open your heart to receive more of the Holy Spirit’s infilling than ever before, and dare to stretch your faith beyond the normal, beyond the average. You will see the person of the Son of God take shape in your life and God will be very present in whatever your hands finds to do.
