When veils are removed, we see the reality of God in every area of our lives

But whenever anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. We all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into His likeness with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit. 2 Cor 3:16,18

There are different veils that cover men’s eyes, preventing them from seeing the reality of God. Our Creator is very present in the earth, but He’s often not seen because of a veil that obscures Him from men’s sight. Though God is never far from the men and women He intended to be His son’s and daughters, to many He seems very distant, simply a whisp of imagination that’s lost in the starker reality of the tangible material world. A veil prevents the vital living connection of real relationship between the Father and His orphan children.

In this scripture Paul was talking about the veil of religion and law that blinded the Jews. Religion of rule and ritual is a veil rather than a pathway to the reality of God, especially when it teaches that men can reach God through effort and self-righteousness. The only path is God’s amazing grace – trying to earn His kindness and mercy makes no sense.

Other veils exist, and they can cloud the eyes also of Christians, preventing them from experiencing the powerful life of God in specific areas. Jesus told how worries and concerns are weeds that choke the seed of the Kingdom along with an unhealthy dependence on material things (Matt 13:22). Unforgiveness and experiences that have caused painful bruising of the heart can cause veils of hardness to obscure the beauty of God’s perfect love and grace that is available in areas where we need it most.

So how to remove the veil? Paul says that ‘when anyone turns to the Lord, the veil is removed’. This is a simple thing that even a child can do: it means turning to Christ, deciding to trust Him, chosing to believe. Faith is turning the gaze of the heart onto Jesus, and then He removes all of our veils. We all have capacity for this simple faith, and it is God’s way for everyone so that all have the opportunity to see Him, experience Him and connect to Him as sons to their Father. His way is that we believe first, and then we see His reality. We turn and the veil is removed.

Wherever there is a veil in your life obscuring the reality of God goodness and power, make the decision simply to turn to Christ and to trust Him. Ask Him show you What He is for you in that area of your life. Then maintain ‘the gaze of the soul’ on Him, waiting expectantly. He will touch you with a divine encounter of His Presence which is the true reality of life.

When this happens, it will transform you and bring the higher reality of God into your life in a greater way. This is the glory of Heaven seen and experienced on earth.

Grabbing the light He to gives you

There are moments of illumination in God when He speaks to us, opens our minds or touches our hearts with a revelation of His truth. These moments are precious. They’re an invitation to believe, and in so doing, to be transformed. We need to ‘grab’ them.

Put your trust in the light while you have it, so that you may become sons of light.” When he had finished speaking, Jesus left and hid himself from them. John 12:36

When our faith takes hold of the light He shows, His light becomes a permanent part of our lives. Dark places in our heart disappear, and we begin to reflect the light of Christ to others.

How do we make His light permanent?  By processing what He’s shown, digesting it, believing it, considering how to apply it and deciding to walk in it. Plant the seed deeply within you, and watch it grow.

When you have an encounter with God, meditate on what He’s shown and determine to make it part of your life.

This is a good week to listen to what He will speak to you. Our Father speaks, He loves, and He shines on His children. Open your ears to hear Him; open your eyes to see.
