The purpose of the sessions was to explore Christian meditation practices that support Centering Prayer or that can be practiced as an alternative. The techniques studied in this short course are selected from those described by the Jesuit priest, Anthony De Mello in his book, “Sadhana, A Way to God.”
The practices described here are each a form of meditation in their own right and can be practiced for 10, 20 or 60 minutes at a time. Or, as we did in this group, you can use them for a few minutes to quiet the mind and prepare your heart for a practice such as Centering Prayer.
